Play It Again Sam?

by Joseph on August 20, 2010

Sunday’s Jazz ‘n The Beatles program at Jives was a sold out smash.

A great big thank you to all who helped make our concert a sold out success! Thanks to all the faithful FluteDaddy fans who came out to hear us. You encouraged us to new highs. Thanks to all the newcomers who decided the program might be interesting and found it delightful.

The concert was great fun for us in the band, due to a large extent to audience involvement. You were really listening enthusiastically. I especially enjoyed the strong connection with all. We felt like you were a part of the performance.

Thanks also for all your wonderful feedback and encouragement. Everyone suggested we do the program again at Jives. AND so we will. The date for the next Jazz “n The Beatles is set for Sunday September 26th pending final confirmation. We will confirm the in a day or two.

For those waiting for what’s next after the Beatles, FluteDaddy has another delightful new show in the works with a different theme we think you will enjoy. Stay tuned as we roll it out.

We look forward to being with you again soon!

Two Weeks ‘Til Jazz N The Beatles

by Joseph on July 28, 2010

I’m getting really excited about our upcoming Jazz ‘n the Beatles Show at Jives on August 15.

At our last two concerts we played the audience some samples of songs from the show. At Hillside when we played our arrangement of And I Love Her, the audience crowded the dance floor and gave us a big round of applause to show how they loved it. And, at the Steam Plant we got a standing ovation after our salsa arrangement of Lady Madonna.

I think the wonderful reaction is a tribute to the enduring quality of Lennon and McCartney’s songwriting – the songs are just wonderful. It also shows me people like the jazz treatments we are giving the tunes and that’s where a lot of the fun and excitement comes in for the musicians.

We are also going to include some of our favorite arrangements of jazz classics to round out the show. Great songs, excited musicians and an intimate venue add up to a great evening. Don’t miss it. Seating is limited so advance reservations are recommended.

See ya there!
