For this special engagement FluteDaddy features pianist Bernie Brink, bassist Pat Abbott, drummer Joe Dalpino and Joseph Liberti on flute and vocals.
Colorado native Bernie Brink is a lifelong pianist, musician, and passionate jazz man who has performed regionally and nationally in a wide variety of musical styles, settings, and ensembles. His performances celebrate the unique camaraderie found on the bandstand, searching for new sounds and higher modes of communicating ideas musically.
Pat Abbott, is an in demand and versatile player who performs with bands large and small in the Pikes Peak area and has played with some of the greats such as Bill Warous, Paul Smoker, and others. Pat teaches bass, jazz theory and jazz ensemble at PPCC and is also director of D-11 middle school/ elementary orchestra .
Joe Darpino , drummer and percussionist is a Colorado Springs native. After attending UNC Joe returned to Colorado Springs as a full time music educator and active musician bringing a high energy spark to both big band and jazz and rock groups throughout the Pikes Peak area. He studied with Berkeley instructor and local favorite Henrique Dalmeida and flashes the great samba and Afro-Cuban skills he developed as well as some fine jazz fusion and funk chops.
Joseph Liberti is a jazz flutist, vocalist and arranger who has performed in as Fluteddady in Colorado since 2010. Joseph has played with Colorado’s finest musicians performing primarily for shows and special events with appearances at jazz venues the Broadmoor and The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
